Spherical W-5Re alloy powder is a tungsten and rhenium alloy powder, in which the mass fraction of tungsten is 95% and rhenium is 5%. This alloy powder has excellent performance in high temperature, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and other aspects.
1. Characteristics:
- High melting point: Tungsten and rhenium themselves have very high melting points, tungsten is 3422°C, rhenium is 3180°C, and the alloy powder also has an extremely high melting point, which enables it to work stably for a long time in extremely high temperature environments.
- High density and high strength: W-5Re alloy powder has a high density (about 18.5 g/cm³), which makes it excellent when subjected to high pressure and high load.
- Good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance: The addition of rhenium improves the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the alloy, especially in high temperature or highly corrosive environments.
- Electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity: Tungsten and rhenium have good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, and the alloy powder can also maintain these excellent properties and perform well in electrical applications.
- Excellent thermal stability: W-5Re alloy has excellent thermal stability and will not deform or degrade under high temperature working conditions.
2. Application areas:
- Aerospace field: Due to its excellent high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, W-5Re alloy powder is widely used in key components of spacecraft, missiles and other high temperature and high pressure environments.
- Nuclear energy industry: Tungsten alloy powder can withstand the high temperature and radiation environment in nuclear reactors, and is often used in radiation shielding, heat exchange materials, etc. of nuclear reactors.
- High temperature electronic equipment: The application of alloy powder in high frequency electrical devices, especially electrical contact materials and electrode materials.
- Additive manufacturing: Due to the good fluidity of its spherical powder, W-5Re alloy powder is suitable for additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies such as laser melting and electron beam melting, and can produce high-performance metal parts.
- High temperature coating materials: Used to manufacture high temperature resistant coating materials, for example, applied to engine parts or other equipment surfaces that need to be resistant to high temperatures.
